Benchmade Bugout 535 Review
The Benchmade Bugout was designed for backpackers who count every ounce, but it quickly became a favorite in the EDC community. Why? Because sometimes you want a capable knife that doesn't weigh down your gym shorts or suit pants.
The Blade
CPM-S30V is a fantastic all-around steel. It's reasonably easy to sharpen, holds an edge for a long time, and is very corrosion resistant. The drop-point shape is versatile for everything from opening boxes to food prep.
The Handle
This is the controversial part. The Grivory handles are what make it so light, but some users find them too flexible. However, for 99% of EDC tasks, they are more than rigid enough.
Verdict
The Bugout is a modern classic. If you can get past the plastic-feeling handles (or upgrade them later), it's arguably the best lightweight EDC knife on the market.
